Ah, the dreaded face or body-swapping request, especially when you don’t see it coming. We know it can be a nightmare. Even when you’re both the photographer and the retoucher, clients just sometimes have requests that you couldn’t plan for. When I do a complicated face swap, it’s usually these edits that get the most “oohs” and “aahs”—and also the ones that make me really give myself a pat on the back. Look at the above images of the two models on a bike, shot for Samsung. I could tell when we were shooting that this was a complicated shot to get, as we had two models that needed to interact, keep their facial expressions aligned with the mood, hold the hero product the right way, and balance on the bike, all while making it look effortless. The retoucher in me saw that we may be dealing with an in-depth edit. As these were for a large global campaign,
