To quickly switch the Brush tool from Normal to Overlay press Option-Shift-O (PC: Alt-Shift-O).
To switch back to Normal mode for the Brush, press Option-Shift-N (PC: Alt-Shift-N).
To change the opacity of the Brush tool, tap the first number of the opacity you want, e.g., 5 for 50%, 6 for 60%, etc. Tap 0 for 100%.
To swap the foreground color between black and white, tap X.
Working on a layer, press Command-\ (PC: Control-\) to activate the mask and Command-2 (PC: Control-2) to activate the layer.
