Photoshop vs. Lightroom | Jason Yadlovski
Lightroom
Lightroom is available for both Mac and PC. When you subscribe to Lightroom you get two different programs: Adobe Lightroom (Lr) and Adobe Lightroom Classic (LrC). Lightroom (Lr) is a cloud-based version that stores all of your images in the cloud. There is a physical program that lives on your computer, but the image files are stored in Adobe’s cloud. You select which cloud storage option you want when you subscribe. Lightroom Classic (LrC) stores images locally on your hard drive and has the option to sync some or all of your images to the cloud. The subscription also comes with a mobile app that syncs to the cloud and allows you to capture, edit and share images. Cloud storage is great if you want to be able to access your images from wherever you are, sync mobile images to your desktop or share a gallery. However, you are limited to the amount of storage you subscribe to. If you have a lot of images, you may want to consider using Lightroom Classic (LrC) to store them locally and sync only the images you want to the cloud.
